It had been decades since I last saw Selim, my old friend who left Rangpur Zilla School back in class 8. Life had taken us on different paths, and though memories of our school days often crossed my mind, I never thought we’d sit together again — just like before. But that day, over a simple meal at a quiet restaurant, the years in between seemed to melt away.
We talked for hours — about school, about where life had led us, and about the dreams we once shared as carefree boys in khaki and white. There was laughter, a few moments of silence, and that familiar warmth of friendship that no distance or time could erase.
It wasn’t a grand reunion — just two old friends catching up over dinner — but to me, it meant more than any event or celebration. It was a reminder that true friendship doesn’t need a crowd; it only needs connection, and that never really fades.
